The Uribarri or Uribarry Column, also known as the "ghost" Column, was a militia unit that operated at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. The column was founded by the captain of the Civil Guard Manuel Uribarri, an officer with marked leftist tendencies, after the outbreak of the civil war in July 1936. It was made up of between four and five hundred men, who were mostly civil guards. from Valencia and Valencian anarchists. At the end of 1936 the Uribarri column served as the basis for the foundation of the 46th Mixed Brigade, after which it disappeared.
