The Black Arrows Legionary Division was a military unit that fought in the Spanish Civil War as part of the rebel army. In December 1936, the rebel soldiers and the authorities of the Italian Military Mission in Spain agreed to the formation of two mixed Italian-Spanish brigades. On January 11, 1937, the Black Arrows Mixed Brigade was created: the officers and technicians were mostly Italian, the weapons and the rest of the material were surpluses not used by the Corpo Truppe Volontarie (Corps of Volunteer Troops), while most of the non-commissioned officers and troops were Spanish.
